Hi, I’m Marieke. I’m a Boston-based non-profit professional lucky enough to have worked in some of the most historic places in America.

I’m an Upstate New Yorker by birth, but I’ve called Boston home since 2002. This place has given me incredible professional opportunities, great friends, and a meaningful life.

Some of the places I’ve worked include Salem Maritime National Historic Site, New England Historic Genealogical Society, the Bostonian Society/Old State House Museum, the University of Michigan, and the Cambridge Historical Society. In 2008 I was a Fellow at the Salzburg Global Seminar in Austria. One of the professional projects I’m most proud of is an oral history project for the City of Peabody exploring its industrial roots as the one-time leathermaking capital of the world. I got my start in museums listening to elders tell stories at Sitka National Historical Park in Alaska.
